I knew Mike as a visionary senior trustee of RNIB where I was a director. He was an amazing champion of our work to get Audio description on TV, improve access to mobile and computer technology, modernise braille and talking books and so much more. He was always positive along the long rocky roads we travelled. Without Mike's tenecious and compelling advocacy I doubt much of what we now consider day to day access to information and technology would have been delivered. 

He changed the world for many, many blind people.

He was a brilliant mentor for me, and advocate for ordinary bind people and I am eternally grateful for his wisdom and support.
